Loewe’s bracelet bag is a modular fashion magic

Mark: Loewe

Season: Fall / Winter 2021

Editor’s Notes: Loewe’s shapeshifter handbag is an accessory for all occasions.

The brand’s pleated leather crossbody bag – a cylindrical pouch with soft sides – can be folded around the wrist and attached to itself, a feat that turns the accessory into a bracelet-wallet hybrid.

Where was this bag when I was in my clubbing phase? It would have been perfect for keeping my credit card, keys, and chewing gum safe while still leaving my hands free to text “where are you?” every ten minutes.

Although I’m not a party animal anymore, I still appreciate an accessory with a bit of Transformers-esque charm. Prada’s Monolith boots with an AirPods case tied on the side? Why not. Celine Trio bag, with three removable compartments? Absoutely. Feng Chen Wang UGG boot-tour-sandal? Yes!

There is something endlessly fun about modular fashion. The possibility of experimenting with a product, of personalizing it as you wish, releases a kind of playfulness, an exuberance that Jonathan Anderson of Loewe knows how to infuse with sophistication.

The foldable bag is anchored by gold discs stamped with the logo on both ends. Both discs are constructed with stylish D-rings that can be attached using a gold carabiner, securing the bag around the wrist.

If you’re feeling more conventional, just slip on the removable shoulder strap and hang the bag over your arm.

The possibilities are limitless. Personally, I would slip the bag over my wrist for a walk with my dog, or use it as a card holder for running errands. And who knows, the next time I hit the dance floor I’ll be packing all my afternoon essentials in Loewe’s nifty little design.
