Every Prada Spring / Summer 2022 Look

Raf Simons’ second year as Prada’s Creative Director is significant in their latest Spring 2022 collection, with various leather jackets featured in almost every look at the start of the show. Looks are classic at Prada, while showing Raf’s influence. The central theme of the show was oversized leather jackets of varying shapes, colorful satin skirts and dresses, Prada mini handbags and asymmetrical heels.

Featured several times throughout the show, a satin miniskirt with a train in different bright colors was paired with black leather jackets for a woman-rocker look. Pointed toes, asymmetrical heels and mini handbags completed the look, contrasting the leather jackets with a polished touch. The handbags were much more structured than their old vintage nylon mini handbags and came in square and rectangular shapes with long handles.

The boat neck and midi dresses add to the refined and rugged theme of the show, with a non-traditional waist that has been crumpled up, which has added dimension and character to each dress. Similar to satin skirts, these dresses are available in bright, neon shades of pink, yellow and orange. Paired with the same shoes and handbags, these looks were regal and timeless. The shorter mini-dresses featured in the show had wide open backs and trains attached to the dress that represented the collection’s contemporary Raf influence.

At the end of the show, knits and bombers are presented, in classic button silhouettes, and Raf Simons’ famous Prada bomber jacket. The simplicity of the show embraces the versatility of the collection, held in both Milan and Shanghai at exactly the same time. “A celebration of fashion and community,” this show showcases the true fashion community with classic roots and urban trends brought together.
