Bering Introduces Hobart Jacket For Unpredictable Fall Weather

The onset of fall can produce very unpredictable weather conditions. In the northern hemisphere alone, some areas enjoy end-of-year summer heat while others struggle with showers and snowstorms. To help cyclists prepare for everything from heat waves to torrential downpours, French equipment maker Bering has just launched the Hobart leather jacket.

Like most sport-focused jackets, the Hobart features a tailored fit with technical details and an eye-catching accent color. However, Bering stands out with its abrasion resistant Shield Tex fabric and cowhide construction. The sturdy exterior can protect in the event of a slip, but the BWTech Mega waterproof membrane protects the rider from wind and rain. Of course, temperatures tend to drop in these conditions and the removable Shelltech Mega thermal liner also keeps the user warm.

If the sun breaks through, riders can ditch the thermal liner and open the ventilation pockets on the chest and back to circulate air through the jacket. A fixed mesh air system complements the brand’s Air Dynamic System (ADS) and equips the Hobart to handle the various conditions encountered during long-distance journeys.

Weather protection isn’t Hobart’s only trick, however. The leather jacket also comes with Omega level 1 protectors on the elbows and shoulders. Users can adjust the angled arm to fit their frame and add back protector (sold separately) in the pocket provided. The reflective elements also increase visibility for other motorists in an effort to reduce the likelihood of an accident.

Zipped cuffs, waist adjusters, and elbow and back gathers customize the fit while a neoprene collar amplifies comfort. Two external pockets, two internal pockets and a wallet pocket provide just enough storage for extended trips and a connecting zipper on the back allows users to pair the Hobart with hiking pants.

At € 459.99 (≈ $ 535 USD), the Bering Leather Jacket offers AAA CE rated performance at a reasonable price. The versatile top layer is only available in black but is suitable for sizes S-4XL. Whether mother nature blows you wind, rain or shine, the Hobart Leather Jacket has you covered.
