Forget the vampires, Sarah Michelle Gellar kills’ 80s fashion in new model photos

Sarah Michelle Gellar is famous for kicking all kinds of spooky monster asses, from Gnarl and Gentlemen to The Infinite Evil. While she did not take the vampire hunter coat since the last season of the ensemble-directed drama Buffy the vampire slayer in 2003, her murder days are far from over: she just starred in a new fashion campaign, and she’s absolutely killing off the ’80s aesthetic.

Sarah Michelle Gellar recently starred in the 2021 holiday campaign for Take it to heart, a sportswear brand that makes psychedelic prints and bold patterns its daily bread. You can check out the totally retro photos of Sarah’s Insta below:

The photos function everyone’s favorite vampire hunter cradling some of the most iconic trends in ’80s fitness sportswear, including white tubular socks, oversized scrunchies, gummy bracelets and even pastel-colored Walkmans. If she was killing vampires in these duds, they’d probably come from The lost boys Where Near the dark.

Sarah Michelle Gellar serves as Jane Fonda’s full-fledged jazzercise fantasy in the tie-dye leggings and color-coordinated headbands from Wear It To Heart. We would expect nothing less from the ever-fashionable Buffy Summers, even though the Slayer’s wardrobe consisted more of leather jackets, miniskirts, and petite camisoles rather than colorful yoga pants (if you will. more of Buffy’s’ 90s style, check out @buffytheoutfitslayer on Insta, because it’s worth every look).

Sarah Michelle Gellar rose to fame playing Kendall Hart in the popular soap opera All my kids alongside genre mainstay and perennial Emmy nominee Susan Lucci, and her performance even landed the Daytime Emmy Award for Best Younger Actress in a Drama Series in 1995. That said, she came of age in the 1980s and undoubtedly has great fashion memories at the time.

Of course, Gellar’s biggest break came in the form of Buffy Summers on Joss Whedon’s Buffy the vampire slayer. She played the high school cheerleader hunter turned monster for all 144 episodes of the seminal sci-fi series and helped usher in a new era of badass female heroines who shattered stereotypes. And she looked good doing it too, so we can probably expect to see her picking up some of Buffy’s best thugs for promotion in 2031.

When she isn’t modeling ’80s elegance or posting adorable photos on social media with husband Freddie Prinze Jr, Sarah Michelle Gellar continues to live her retro dreams. like Teela’s voice in Netflix Masters of the Universe: Revelation. The project is an animated sequel to the 1983 series He-Man and the Masters of the Universe. The cast also includes Chris Wood of Super girl as He-Man and Star Wars alumnus and voice-over veteran Mark Hamill as Skeletor. If anyone knows anything about ’80s fashion on planets other than Earth, it’s Hamill.

The seven seasons of Buffy the vampire slayer are available to stream now on Hulu and Amazon Prime Video. Masters of the Universe: Revelation is available to stream its entirety on Netflix.
