Wasted Paris is back for the Spring/Summer 2022 season with a collection inspired by the youth of Dogtown in the Californian district of Venice. Titled “Locals Only,” the collection specifically reflects the ethos of Dogtown’s famed Z-Boys skateboarding team.
Founders Xiang Fang Ye and Johann Liebel bring a ’70s aesthetic to a line of apparel including faux leather jackets, pullover vests, zip-up sweaters, short-sleeve button-down shirts, co-ord sets, tees and more. Menswear features a mostly neutral color palette with shades of beige, black, white, and brown, while womenswear is cut with pops of color like flamingo, sky blue, and electric green.
A highlight of the men’s offering is a black faux leather jacket that features a rock-inspired Wasted Paris logo in red with a white cobweb. Similar graphics are thrown onto knit pieces and tracksuits for an amalgamation of skateboarding and ’70s grunge styles. Plus, the collection sees the inclusion of new fabrics like cotton canvas, denim, and faux leather. .
From the new collection, Wasted Paris plans to present its first organic cotton capsule in partnership with Surf Rider Foundation. All proceeds will be entirely donated to the foundation to continue ocean conservation education.
