Cutting magazine

Cut Store is a high-end fashion online retailer imported from the United States, and this is its first physical outlet in Australia. Housed inside a beautifully renovated four-story terrace in Surry Hills, the space continues Cut’s mission to source sustainable brands that focus on quality and craftsmanship. -TO DO.

Most importantly, Cut Store caters to people of all shapes and sizes who want to organize their wardrobe around staple items they’ll keep forever. Whether you’re on your own looking for a t-shirt just because, or shopping with family or friends for a party, you’re likely to find something to suit you here.

Collection highlights include t-shirts, sweaters and hoodies from Perfect White Tee; chic basics from Lacausa; the bohemian dresses of Jen’s Pirate Booty from Malibu; classic leather jackets from Austin, Texas’s Understated Leather; candles by Ukiyo; Luv Aj’s costume jewelry; and more. Cut receives new shipments every week and continually expands its relationships to bring down international brands, so there’s always a reason to visit.

Director Hannah Maginn collaborated with artist and designer Michael Delany to transform the floor of the street-level terrace into a decadent yet cozy space bathed in Cut’s signature olive green. The dressing rooms — draped in oversized curtains and covered in lush carpeting — are decorated with a Matisse-inspired mural. A huge arched mirror tells you, “You look epic” (just in case you were in any doubt).
